Job summary
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs seeks a Registered Nurse (Acute Care) for the Salisbury, NC Nursing Acute Care Unit to provide and supervise direct patient care per nursing process and VA policies.
Applicants must hold a current US RN license, demonstrate English proficiency, and meet VA qualification standards. Night shifts with a compressed schedule are possible, with comprehensive federal benefits.
Qualifications
- English language proficiency required for direct patient care per VA policy.
- Graduation from a nursing program approved by an accrediting body (ACEN/CCNE).
- State licensure as a registered nurse upon appointment; foreign education evaluated for equivalency.
Responsibilities
- Provide and supervise direct patient care using the nursing process.
- Administer medications and procedures per VA policies and guidelines.
- Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team to improve patient outcomes.
- Lead and mentor nursing staff and ensure quality improvement initiatives.
