Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs seeks an Acute Care Registered Nurse (RN) to provide evidence-based, patient-centered care across the continuum.

The role involves coordination of education, self-management support, and ensuring patient satisfaction while administering medications and procedures per VA guidelines. The position requires active RN licensure, completion of an approved nursing program (ACEN/CCNE), and strong English language proficiency.

Qualifications

• Must be proficient in English per 38 U.S.C. 7403(f)
• Graduate from an approved nursing program (ACEN/CCNE)
• Eligible for RN licensure in a US state or territory
• May pursue licensure via bridge program if applicable
• GNT exception available for licensure pursuit

Responsibilities

• Provide competent, evidence-based nursing care to assigned patients
• Coordinate nursing education, orientation, competencies, and QA activities
• Lead in planning and delivering technically competent care for complex patients
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to achieve plan of care
• Maintain safety and quality standards per ANA and VA policies
• Support care management and prioritize patient needs
