Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs seeks a Nurse Manager for Acute Care to direct 24/7 operations, supervise staff, and coordinate patient-centered care across the continuum.

The NM leads implementation of education, self-management, and patient satisfaction initiatives while ensuring high-quality outcomes. The role requires active RN licensure in the United States, a BSN or higher, and English proficiency.

Qualifications

• Current, full, active, and unrestricted RN license in a US State or District of Columbia
• Graduate of a nursing program approved by ACEN or CCNE accreditation bodies
• English language proficiency as required by 38 U.S.C. 7403(f) and VA guidelines

Responsibilities

• Directs and oversees the 24/7 operation of assigned units through first-line supervisory authority
• Coordinates orientation, training, development, and performance evaluation of nursing staff
• Provides leadership to the team and acts as role model and educator
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to remove barriers and implement evidence-based practices
• Ensures culturally competent care and accountability for quality and cost-effective outcomes
