Job summary

UF Health in Leesburg, FL seeks an RN for an acute care Medical, Neurology, and Oncology unit. The role emphasizes patient-centered care, evidence-based practice, collaboration, and safety, under the direction of nursing leadership.

The RN will perform comprehensive assessments, develop care plans, administer medications, monitor outcomes, educate patients and families, and participate in quality improvement and onboarding of new staff. Hours: 6:45am–7:15pm.

Qualifications

• ADN required to practice as an RN in Florida.
• BSN preferred for preferred career advancement.
• New graduate nurses may be considered based on unit needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized plans of care.
• Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care per policies and best practices.
• Administer medications, treatments, and therapies accurately.
• Monitor patient progress, evaluate outcomes, and adjust care plans.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR.
• Coordinate care with physicians and interdisciplinary team for timely discharges.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses and discharge planning.
• Promote patient safety through infection prevention and telemetry monitoring.
• Mentor and precept new nursing staff and students.
