Job summary

UNC Health Care is seeking a full-time Physical Therapist Assistant to join the Acute Care team at Caldwell Memorial Hospital in Lenoir, NC. You will provide skilled PT treatments under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, monitor progress, and help with discharge planning and patient education to support safe transitions of care.

The role emphasizes collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, patient mobility restoration, and program documentation.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited two-year Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Licensed as a Physical Therapist Assistant by the state of North Carolina.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to interdisciplinary team meetings to plan patient needs and discharge plans.
• Precepts PT technicians or assistants and evaluates learner competency.
• Documents patient treatment and progress toward goals; completes billing and statistics records.
• Instructs PT/ PTA students.
• Provides skilled PT treatments and designs exercise programs to meet goals; teaches ambulation with devices for safe discharge.
• Participates in quality improvement and departmental meetings.
