Job summary

UNC Health Care in Lenoir, NC is seeking a per diem Physical Therapist Assistant to support both acute care and outpatient settings. The PTA will assist with evaluations, treatment plans, and discharge planning under supervision.

The role offers flexible scheduling and opportunities to work with a diverse patient population, including postsurgical and neurological conditions, in a wellness-centered clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited two-year Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Licensed as a Physical Therapist Assistant by the state of North Carolina.
• BLS certification.
• No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to interdisciplinary team meetings to plan patient needs, discharge plans, and family education plans.
• Precepts PT technicians or other PT assistants and evaluates learners' competency.
• Documents patient treatment and progress; completes department records for billing and statistics.
• Instructs PT and PTA students.
• Provides skilled PT treatments; designs and teaches exercise programs; trains patients to use ambulatory devices safely.
• Contributes to quality of clinical services through documentation and participation in quality improvement.
