Job summary

UNMH Jobs in New Mexico seeks a rotating inpatient Physical Therapy Assistant in Rehabilitation Services. You will assist with patient testing, evaluations and therapeutic exercises across age groups, under PT supervision.

This role offers sign-on and relocation assistance, a mentorship for new grads, and a comprehensive development environment with a strong patient safety and education focus.

Qualifications

• Essential: Associate Degree.
• Related discipline required.
• No minimum experience.
• Bilingual abilities (English and another language) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow patient safety-related policies, procedures and protocols.
• Develop and maintain administrative records, reports, and statistics as required.
• Enhance professional growth through participation in educational programs and workshops.
• Demonstrate proactive approach to patient safety by questioning current policies.
• Assist the Physical Therapist during testing, evaluations and complex procedures.
• Carry out a program of corrective exercise and treatment for assigned patients.
• Instruct patients on segments of the program and device usage.
• Obtain and return required equipment and maintain supplies.
• Adhere to core Patient Centered Medical Home expectations and departmental policies.
