Job summary

Inova Fair Oaks Hospital is seeking a Physical Therapist (PT) to join our Acute Care team as a PRN role. The position requires at least 2 weekend shifts per month and one minor and one major holiday per year, with some weekday availability for training.

The PT will select evaluations and treatments, demonstrate skills with modalities, and perform re-evaluations per guidelines while maintaining clear communication with the care team and patients.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy
• Licensure: Virginia Physical Therapist License or Physical Therapist compact privileges required upon start
• Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association required upon start.
• Preferred: Experience working with acute care adult population

Responsibilities

• Select evaluations and treatment methods appropriate for patient diagnosis, age, and status; formulate treatment plans.
• Demonstrate competency in treatment modalities, equipment, and protocols.
• Perform re-evaluations per department guidelines and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, medical staff, care team members, students, supervisors, and outside contacts.
