Job summary

Fort Washington Medical Center, part of Adventist HealthCare, seeks an experienced Physical Therapist for the Acute Care Department to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.

As a Physical Therapist you will perform initial examinations, guide progress, plan discharges, and coordinate with the care team. Requires MD license and BLS; Per Diem rate applies; schedule includes weekends.

Qualifications

• PT degree from an accredited program (Bachelors, Masters, or Doctorate).
• 1 year site-specific PT experience preferred.
• Active Maryland PT license.
• BLS certification required (AHA).

Responsibilities

• Performs initial examination and evaluation to establish impairment/diagnosis, prognosis and plan of care.
• Provides, or directs/supervises, therapy intervention and involves patient in planning and reassessment.
• Plans for discharge with follow-up/referrals and discontinuation when progress ceases.
• Communicates, documents, and coordinates patient management with the care team; supervises rehab staff.
• Manages scheduling to align census and workload; attends team meetings and contributes to patient updates.
