Job summary

Fort Washington Medical Center in Fort Washington, MD is seeking an experienced Physical Therapist for the Acute Care Department to support patient recovery and functional independence.

The role offers a per diem schedule with weekend coverage. A Maryland license and AHA BLS certification are required; collaboration with the care team is essential to plan, implement, and adjust therapy based on patient progress.

Qualifications

• Bachelor, Master, or Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• 1 year site-specific experience preferred.
• Active Maryland License.
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs an initial examination and evaluation to establish a diagnosis, prognosis and plan of care for rehabilitation needs.
• Provides or directs therapy interventions, involves patient and care team in planning, and reexamines progress as needed.
• Plans for discharge with follow-up or referral when goals are met or progress stalls.
• Communicates and documents all aspects of patient management with the care team and supervises rehab staff.
• Manages schedule to accommodate census and patient load; attends team meetings.
