Job summary

UPMC Community in Pennsylvania is seeking a full-time Physical Therapist to support the acute care population. This position provides patient assessments, treatment plans, and therapies to improve function and mobility, with a focus on evidence-based practice.

The role follows a Monday–Friday day shift, with rotating weekends and holidays. You will collaborate with physicians and the care team, document progress, and contribute to discharge planning while supervising eligible staff.

Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist in the state or eligible to obtain licensure.
• Experience with adult and geriatric patients.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial assessments and develop treatment plans.
• Administer PT treatments and monitor progress.
• Document treatments and discharge planning.
• Coordinate with physicians and care team.
• Supervise PT assistants and adjunct staff.
• Maintain licensure and participate in CE activities.
• Goal-directed interventions to improve function.
• Schedule patients to meet productivity standards.
• Provide home instructions to patients and families.
• Attend staff meetings and in-service trainings.
