Job summary

UPMC is seeking a Staff Physical Therapist to review patient charts, assess, plan, and administer physical therapy treatments. You will monitor progress, educate patients, and contribute to discharge planning with an emphasis on improving function and mobility.

Responsibilities include collaborating with physicians, supervising PT assistants, maintaining licensure, and ensuring accurate documentation and scheduling to support high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
  • Must possess knowledge and skills to provide quality customer service.
  • Maintains professional license/registration through ongoing CE and licensure requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews patient charts and conducts initial assessments.
  • Develops and implements treatment plans with progression notes.
  • Administers PT treatments and modalities; documents progress and discharge planning.
  • Communicates patient status to referring physicians and healthcare team.
  • Supervises PT assistants and collaborates with PTAs to adjust plans as needed.
  • Rotates through treatment areas and participates in staff meetings and education.
  • Completes documentation for services rendered, including discharge summaries.
  • Schedules patients to meet productivity standards while delivering quality care.
