Job summary

AHM Health in Riverside, CA seeks a Phlebotomist to perform venipuncture for inpatients and outpatients, adhering to strict isolation and safety protocols. The role requires current California CPT certification and experience in an Acute Care setting. The incumbent will ensure timely draws (STAT/ASAP) and support orientation of new staff.

Qualifications

• Must have a California Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certificate.
• Must meet the qualifications of unlicensed personnel to perform venipuncture, skin puncture, and arterial puncture.
• One year of experience in an Acute Care hospital preferred.

Responsibilities

• Properly performs venipuncture on inpatients and outpatients, as described.
• Properly disposes of contaminated needles immediately upon completion of phlebotomy procedures.
• Completes all timed draws, STAT, and ASAP orders before ending the shift.
• Strictly follows Hospital and Lab policies/procedures regarding patient care, including isolation procedures.
• Assists in orientation of new personnel as requested.
