Job summary

Kindred Hospital San Gabriel Valley in West Covina, CA is seeking a phlebotomist to perform venipuncture and related specimen collection duties in a long‑term acute care setting. You will label tubes, document results, and assist in laboratory functions under the Lab Director or Manager.

Using the LIS, you will maintain supplies, perform clerical tasks, and communicate procedures to patients to reduce anxiety. Requires HS diploma and formal phlebotomy training; current BLS is preferred.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• Formal phlebotomy training as required by state.
• Medical Assistant or Phlebotomy certification preferred.
• State license/registration as required by state.
• Current BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipunctures and specimen collection according to orders and procedures.
• Explain collection procedures to patients and reduce anxiety.
• Label tubes, log procedures, and file paperwork.
• Maintain work areas and order supplies; assist in clerical tasks.
• Use Laboratory Information System to document specimens and create manifests.
