Job summary

ScionHealth in Texas is seeking a Paramedic to provide basic and advanced emergency medical care in an acute care setting.

You will assess illness and injury, monitor patients, perform interventions, prepare for transport, and work with physicians and nursing staff.

Candidates must hold Paramedic Technical Certification or an associate degree, current state licensure, and BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications; six months' acute care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medications and administration practices appropriate to patient condition and age.
• Ability to prioritize care in fast-paced, high-acuity settings.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced care to patients under supervision of physicians and nurses.
• Perform assessments, interventions, and documentation for patients across the lifespan.
• Assist with patient teaching and education, including procedures, equipment, and discharge instructions.
• Monitor and interpret EKG and telemetry strips.
• Identify and respond to changes in patient condition and notify medical team as appropriate.
• Assist with patient admissions and discharges, contributing to plan of care development.
• Set up and assist with invasive procedures and provide post-procedure monitoring.
• Adhere to safety, infection control, and confidentiality standards.
