Job summary

NorthShore University HealthSystem seeks an Occupational Therapist for the Acute Rehab Unit in Arlington Heights, IL. Per diem role requiring two Saturdays per month, with hours 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

The position focuses on assessment, treatment, and discharge planning in a collaborative hospital setting. Requirements include an OT degree from an AOTA‑accredited program, Illinois licensure or eligibility, NBCOT certification, and CPR (AHA).

Qualifications

• The completion of a degree in Occupational Therapy from an AOTA accredited school or the equivalent.
• Current Illinois licensure or eligibility.
• Certification by National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
• CPR certification from American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Assess, treat, and care for patients in the assigned area.
• Evaluate functional abilities and develop treatment plans.
• Implement treatment plans and modify as necessary to regain function and reduce pain.
• Document patient records, billing, and clinical notes per guidelines.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and staff to ensure optimal patient care.
• Educate patients and families, including home programs and discharge planning.
