Job summary

OU Medical Center in Oklahoma is seeking an Occupational Therapist to work in Adult Acute Care, with potential levels I–III depending on qualifications. You will plan, evaluate, and implement therapy programs under physician direction.

Responsibilities include selecting evaluations, assessing independent living and psychosocial skills, developing short- and long-term goals, designing adaptive equipment, and contributing to discharge planning. Supervision of students may occur.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy required.
• Current license from the Oklahoma State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision as an Occupational Therapist or eligible to sit for the exam; license must be obtained within six months of hire.
• Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Interpret physician referrals and select appropriate evaluation procedures.
• Evaluate patient in areas such as independence, occupational performance, prevocational skills, and psychosocial abilities.
• Develop treatment plans with short- and long-term goals, and decide frequency/duration of therapy.
• Assist with adaptive equipment, orthotic devices, body mechanics and patient education.
• Inform patient and family about goals and progress; participate in discharge planning.
• Supervise students when applicable.
