Job summary

Banner Health in Gilbert, Arizona seeks an Occupational Therapist to join our Acute Care Rehab team, providing therapy across Med‑Surg, Oncology, ICU, PCU, ED and Observation. You will work four 10‑hour shifts per week with required weekend and holiday coverage.

Responsibilities include evaluation, planning, administration and supervision of OT treatment, consistent documentation, and collaboration with physicians, nurses and families to ensure safe, patient‑centered care.

Qualifications

• Completed the occupational therapy program approved by the governing board.
• Current OT license in the state of practice.
• BLS certification.
• Proficiency with computer software in patient-care environments.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates patients' functional abilities, sets plan of care and goals, and completes evaluations within required timeframes.
• Implements individualized OT treatment considering physical, social, cultural and age-specific needs, and provides education to care teams and families.
• Documents progress per department standards within established timelines.
• Communicates patient information to physicians, nurses and the interdisciplinary team and facilitates problem-solving with physicians as needed.
• Demonstrates flexibility in caseloads, shifts and coverage, and supports other patient care areas as needed.
• Directs and delegates personnel to ensure safe, cost-effective patient care and confirms competency before delegation.
• Participates in department-wide process improvements and meets productivity standards.
• Interacts with staff, physicians, patients, families and external contacts to coordinate patient care.
