Job summary

Wayne Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our clinical care team in Michigan. Under the limited direction of an attending physician, you will obtain medical histories, perform exams, order tests, and develop treatment plans in collaboration with attending physicians.

You will educate patients and families, participate in rounds, manage inpatient/outpatient care, and may engage in clinical research.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited NP program and licensed in Michigan.
• AGACNP or acute care NP credentials or physician assistant board certification.
• ANCC or AANP certification is required.
• Unrestricted license to practice in Michigan with RN and Nurse Prescriber authorization.

Responsibilities

• Obtains and records complete medical history of patient.
• Performs physical examinations and documents results.
• Orders, evaluates and monitors medical and laboratory diagnostic tests and treatment plans.
• Develops inpatient and outpatient care plans in consultation with attending physician.
• Educates and counsels patient and family on condition and recovery expectations.
• Conducts patient rounds and documents assessment and progress.
• Responds to emergencies and initiates appropriate treatment until relieved by a physician.
• May participate in clinical research and data analysis.
• Maintains supervising/collaborating physician relationship documentation.
• Prepares discharge summaries as assigned.
