Job summary

Memorial Hermann is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to provide comprehensive patient care in a Cardiovascular ICU/IMU, performing assessments, diagnoses, treatments and in-hospital follow-up in accordance with the Texas Nurse Practice Act and Memorial Hermann Health System Standards of Care. AGACNP or PA is required, with 2-3 years of RN or CCU experience for new NPs/PAs.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Nurse Practitioner Program approved by the State of Texas.
• Graduate of an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program approved by the State of Texas if area of intended practice is Trauma; Masters of Nursing preferred.
• Current State of Texas license to practice professional nursing is required.
• Certification by the American Nurse Credentialing Center or other national certifier (ANCC/NCLEX).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) are required; PALS/NRP may be required depending on area.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive patient care through systemic assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management and in-hospital follow-up.
• Care for cardiovascular ICU/IMU patients and follow Memorial Hermann Health System standards of care.

• New NPs or PAs MUST have 2-3 years of RN experience with Critical Care ICU


• Patient population includes VV/VA ECMO, Mechanical Circulatory Support, Post-op Cardiac Surgery

Licenses/Certifications:

• Current State of Texas license to practice professional nursing

• the American Certification of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification


• Certified in Basic Life Support; current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)


• Certified in ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support) if area of practice is Trauma within 6 months of hire date

Experience/ Knowledge/ Skills:
