Job summary

Memorial Hermann is seeking a Nurse Practitioner/APP for the Cardiovascular ICU/IMU in Texas. The role is FT at night (7p–7a) with rotating weekends and holidays. Requires AGACNP or PA, plus 2–3 years ICU experience focused on heart failure patients.

Training on devices will be provided where needed. Board certification in the specialty and current Texas nursing licensure are required, along with ACLS, PALS, BLS and trauma-related certifications as applicable.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Nurse Practitioner Program approved by the State of Texas.
• ACNP/ACNP with Trauma practice area is required; Acute Care NP preferred.
• Two-three years of RN, PA, or NP Critical Care experience with heart failure population is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive patient care through assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management and in-hospital follow up.
• Care for cardiovascular ICU/IMU patients with devices; training provided as needed.

Nurse Practitioner / APP - Cardiovascular ICU, IMU

• New NPs or PAs MUST have 2-3 years of RN experience with Critical Care ICU,
• Patient population includes VV/VA ECMO, Mechanical Circulatory Support, Post-op Cardiac Surgery

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

• Graduate of Nurse Practitioner Program approved by the State of Texas
• Graduate of an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program approved by the State of Texas if area of intended practice is Trauma; Masters of Nursing preferred. Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with at least two (2) years’ related experience.

Licenses/Certifications:

• Current State of Texas license to practice professional nursing
• Certification by the American Nurse Credentialing Center
• National Certification Center in area of specialty
• the American Association of Nurse Practitioners
• the American Certification of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification
• Certified in Basic Life Support; current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
• Certified in ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support) if area of practice is Trauma within 6 months of hire date

Experience/ Knowledge/ Skills:Two (2)years clinical nursing experience in area of intended practice
