Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or PA for the Cardiovascular ICU/IMU. This full-time night-shift role involves comprehensive patient care, assessments, and in-hospital follow-up with heart failure patients. 2–3 years of critical care experience required; AGACNP or PA credentials preferred.

Texas licensure, ACLS, BLS, and relevant certifications expected. Rotating weekends and holidays, no on-call. New NPs/PAs must have 2–3 years RN CCU experience.

Qualifications

• Two years of clinical nursing experience in the intended practice area.
• Licensure: current TX RN/NP/PA license to practice professionally.
• Certifications: ACLS and BLS; PALS/NRP may be required per role.
• Certification by ANCC, NCC or AACN preferred depending on area.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive patient care by assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
• In-hospital follow up and disease management in the Cardiovascular ICU/IMU.
• Support care coordination and early patient transitions with safety priorities.

Job Summary

Position responsible for providing comprehensive patient care by systemic assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management, and in-hospital follow up, affecting direct patient care through the disease process according to the Texas Nurse Practice Act and Memorial Hermann Health System Standards of Care.Bring your commitment to excellence to Memorial Hermann, where your contributions are appreciated & your voice matters.

• Nurse Practitioner / APP - Cardiovascular ICU, IMU
• FT/Nights 7p/7a
• Rotating weekends (Saturdays) & holidays; No call
• AGACNP or PA required
• 2-3 years of RN, PA or NP Critical Care experience & experience with heart failure population required
• New NPs or PAs MUST have 2-3 years of RN experience with Critical Care ICU,
• Patient population includes VV/VA ECMO, Mechanical Circulatory Support, Post-op Cardiac Surgery
• Will train on devices

Minimum Qualifications

Graduate of Nurse Practitioner Program approved by the State of Texas

or

Graduate of an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program approved by the State of Texas if area of intended practice is Trauma; Masters of Nursing preferred. Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with at least two (2) years’ related experience.Licenses/Certifications:Current State of Texas license to practice professional nursing

Certification by the American Nurse Credentialing Center

National Certification Center in area of specialty

the American Certification of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification

Certified in ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support) if area of practice is Trauma within 6 months of hire date
