Job summary

Orlando Health - Health Central Hospital in Ocoee, FL seeks an experienced nurse leader to support a busy medical-surgical unit. You will supervise staffing, oversee daily patient care, and ensure alignment with physician orders and hospital policies.

This role emphasizes coaching the nursing team, advancing safety initiatives, and improving patient flow through collaboration with care coordinators, discharge planners, and leader rounds.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Current Florida RN license (or Nurse Licensure Compact) required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; additional certifications may be preferred (ACLS/PALS/NRP/TNCC).

Responsibilities

• Manage staffing assignments based on patient acuity and skill set to ensure patient care needs are met.
• Coordinate patient flow with Administrative Supervisors, Care Coordinators, and Discharge Planners.
• Ensure compliance with physician orders and established policies, procedures, and standards of practice.
• Interface with patients and families to enhance experience and address complaints; participate in safety huddles.
• Lead and mentor nursing staff, support retention, and promote best-practice care.
