Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Grand Blanc, MI is seeking a Nurse Assistant/Patient Experience for Acute Care Elderly. Under the supervision of a Nurse, you will perform day-to-day patient care activities and help maintain an environment conducive to patient well-being.

This full-time day shift (7:00am–7:30pm) emphasizes compassionate support for patients and families, adherence to HIPAA and OSHA, and collaboration with medical staff to address care issues.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Formal education or training in a medical careers program OR enrollment in nursing school OR two or more years' experience in a Patient Care Associate/Nurse Assistant role.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), or Canadian equivalent, is required before start date and valid at least 60 days beyond start date.
• One-year prior work experience in a patient care environment.

Responsibilities

• Performs specific patient care interventions as delegated by the RN in effort to identify/attain treatment goals.
• Delivers compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.
• Provides physical support for patients with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, showering, feeding, dressing, getting out of bed, using the toilet, walking, standing or exercising.
• Ensures compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment and protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control, hazardous waste and other policies and protocols.
• Performs other related job duties as requested.
• Conduct routine patient rounds to identify concerns, improve communication, and recover service issues before patient discharge.
• Work with the patient, family members, and medical staff as an advisor to facilitate the resolution of care issues.
• Provide follow-up services to patients to ensure optimal customer service.
• Document, analyze, and implement programs that address patient concerns and help increase customer satisfaction.
