Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Grand Blanc, Michigan, seeks a dedicated CNA to support patient-centered care on the Medical-Surgical unit during nights (7 pm to 7:30 am). You will perform selected day-to-day patient care activities, maintain a welcoming environment, and demonstrate unit-specific competencies while considering patients' age, development, and cultural preferences.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• State Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential.
• One month of job-related experience/training.

Position Summary:
Under the direct supervision of a Nurse, contributes to the delivery of patient-centered care through: Performance of selected day-to-day patient care activities. Maintenance of an environment that is functionally and aesthetically conducive to patient well-being. Demonstrates unit/area-designated competencies. Interacts with patients considering their developmental, age-specific, and cultural spiritual preferences.

Responsibilities:

• Performs specific patient care interventions as delegated by the RN in effort to identify/attain treatment goals.
• Delivers compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.
• Provides physical support for patients with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, showering, feeding, dressing, getting out of bed, using the toilet, walking, standing or exercising.
• Ensures compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment and protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control, hazardous waste and other policies and protocols.
• Performs other related job duties as requested.

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• State Certified Nursing Assistant.
• One month of job-related experience and/or training.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.

Preferred:

• One year of experience in a medical setting.
