Job summary

Houston Methodist Specialty Physician Group is seeking a Nurse Practitioner Acute Care (NP-AC) to provide high‑quality patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings, aligned with the Texas Nurse Practice Act and our interprofessional team.

You will diagnose, treat and consult with patients, order tests, educate patients on preventative care, and prescribe medications as appropriate while serving as a clinical resource and leader within the department.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited school of Nursing; graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Two years of RN/APP or NP clinical experience.
• RN license in Texas and APRN Acute Care certification; prescriptive authority and advanced certifications as required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, treat and consult with patients in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Order tests and interpret results within the Nurse Practice Act.
• Prescribe medications as appropriate and provide patient education on preventative care.
• Collaborate with physicians and the interprofessional health care team.
