Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Nurse Practitioner Acute Care (NP-AC) to provide comprehensive patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings in Texas. The NP-AC will diagnose, treat, consult, and educate patients while operating under the Texas Nurse Practice Act and the hospital’s care standards.

Requirements include a Master’s degree in Nursing, graduation from an accredited NP program, and current Texas RN licensure with NP-AC certification.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in Nursing from an accredited school of Nursing and graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioners program.
• Two years of registered nurse, advanced practice or nurse practitioner clinical experience.
• RN licensure in Texas with NP Acute Care certification and state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate patient care across inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Order tests, diagnose and treat patients in collaboration with the health care team.
• Educate patients and families about care plans and preventive practices.
