Qualifikationen

• Requires college-level courses in medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, and coding ICD-10 and CPT/HCPCS.
• ICD-10 training completion is required.
• Minimum 3 years of acute care coding and abstracting experience preferred.
• Basic computer experience required; 10-key typing with 35 wpm preferred.

Aufgaben

• Review and analyze medical records to assign ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes for all applicable service types.
• Enter and validate coded data in the electronic health information system.
• Ensure coding is accurate and timely per regulatory and hospital guidelines.
• Collaborate with departments, corporate teams, and coding vendors to support coding and charge-entry completion.
• Identify and help resolve issues affecting DNFB, including documentation gaps and system delays.
