Job summary

MercyOne Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 36-hour week on a fast-paced medical-surgical unit in Central Iowa. You will provide individualized, high-quality nursing care to adult patients, collaborating with virtual and bedside teams to ensure safe, evidence-based care across urology, nephrology, trauma, and colorectal surgery specialties.

Responsibilities include assessment, planning, and delivery of nursing care, with shifts rotating 3x12 hours and included weekends/holidays.

Qualifications

• Provides individualized, high-quality nursing care to patients of all ages.
• Delivers nursing care per Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies.
• Works rotating 12-hour shifts, including days/nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized nursing care using professional judgment.
• Delegate and coordinate patient care during admission, transfer, and discharge.
• Maintain patient safety and comfort; monitor equipment as needed.
• Respond to emergencies and initiate resuscitation when required.
• Educate patients and families, addressing educational and emotional needs.
• Supervise and guide patient care technicians and other staff.
