Wilson Health in Sidney, Ohio is seeking a Medical Surgical-Telemetry Health Unit Coordinator for a full-time role. The HUC prepares and compiles patient records and provides essential patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Department: Acute Care, 23-bed unit.

Shift is 3rd shift (7pm–7am), with a 36-hour work week, and the position reports to the Acute Care Nurse Manager. Responsibilities include data entry, unit coordination, and collaboration with the care team to ensure

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Nurse Aide Training and Competency Evaluation Program completed or equivalent.
• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English with strong interpersonal skills.
• Current Basic Life Support certification.

Responsibilities

• Enter patient information and orders into computer systems to ensure continuity of care.
• Coordinate unit activities and ensure necessary supplies are available for patient care.
• Maintain open communication with patients, families and team members for therapeutic interventions.
• Assist with treatments and procedures under RN/LPN supervision.
• Provide patient care in line with ethical concepts and respect for patient dignity.

This unit is where patients receive active but short-term treatment for a server injury or episode of illness, an urgent medical condition, or during recovery from surgery. Job Summary:The Medical-Surgical Telemetry Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) prepares and compiles records in nursing unit of hospital facility and provides essential patient care under direction of Registered Nurse. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the computer entry of patient information/registration and physician orders to ensure continuity of care.
• Assist with the coordination of activities of the unit and ensures the necessary supplies are available to provide patient care.
• Assure opens and timely communication with the patient, their significant others and team members to ensure the occurrence of therapeutic interventions.
• Under direction of the RN/LPN, assists in meeting the physical and emotional needs of the patient on his/her assigned unit. The patient population would include: the young-middle aged adult patient, and the geriatric patient.
• Under the direction of the RN/LPN, carry out assigned treatments and procedures.
• The HUC/PCT shall provide care based on ethical concepts, respect for life, dignity, human worth and the individuality of human beings.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Successfully completed an approved Nurse Aide Training and Competency Evaluation Program; or three to six months related hospital experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English with strong interpersonal skills.
• Current certification in Basic Life Support
