Wilson Health in Sidney, Ohio is seeking a direct-hire Medical Surgical Telemetry Health Unit Coordinator for the 3rd shift (7pm–7am). This 23-bed unit requires coordination of patient care, order entry, and supply management under RN/LPN supervision.

The role emphasizes accurate documentation, effective communication, and compassionate patient support on a busy medical-surgical unit.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent experience.
• Nurse Aide Training and Competency Evaluation Program completed.
• Ability to read and communicate in English with strong interpersonal skills.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsabilités

• Enter patient information and physician orders into the system to ensure continuity of care.
• Coordinate unit activities and ensure availability of necessary supplies for patient care.
• Maintain open and timely communication with patients, families and team members to ensure interventions.
• Assist RN/LPN in meeting physical and emotional needs of patients on the unit.
• Carry out assigned treatments and procedures under direction of nursing staff.
• Provide care grounded in ethical principles, dignity and respect for patients.

Employment Status:Full-Time Working Hours: 36hours a week (72 hours per pay period) Shift: 3rdshift (7pm-7am) Position Reports to:Acute Care Nurse Manager Department Description:Wilson Health's Acute Care Department is a 23-bed medical-surgical -telemetry unit. This unit is where patients receive active but short-term treatment for a server injury or episode of illness, an urgent medical condition, or during recovery from surgery. Job Summary:The Medical-Surgical Telemetry Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) prepares and compiles records in nursing unit of hospital facility and provides essential patient care under direction of Registered Nurse. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the computer entry of patient information/registration and physician orders to ensure continuity of care.
• Assist with the coordination of activities of the unit and ensures the necessary supplies are available to provide patient care.
• Assure opens and timely communication with the patient, their significant others and team members to ensure the occurrence of therapeutic interventions.
• Under direction of the RN/LPN, assists in meeting the physical and emotional needs of the patient on his/her assigned unit. The patient population would include: the young-middle aged adult patient, and the geriatric patient.
• Under the direction of the RN/LPN, carry out assigned treatments and procedures.
• The HUC/PCT shall provide care based on ethical concepts, respect for life, dignity, human worth and the individuality of human beings.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Successfully completed an approved Nurse Aide Training and Competency Evaluation Program; or three to six months related hospital experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English with strong interpersonal skills.
• Current certification in Basic Life Support
