Job summary
Penobscot Community Health Care in Maine is seeking an Experienced Advanced Practice Provider for an acute care role embedded in outpatient primary care. The position offers a walk-in/urgent care setting with a mix of acute and chronic conditions.
The role requires MD/DO, NP, or PA training with current state licensure and DEA license, BLS current or within 2 weeks of hire, and preferably 1 year of clinical experience. Competitive compensation and benefits offered.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited MD or DO, Nurse Practitioner and/or Physician Assistant program.
- Current ME NP or PA license, current DEA license.
- Up-to-date BLS or obtain within 2 weeks if not current at hire.
- One year of clinical experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Full-time dynamic and collaborative role embedded in an outpatient primary care practice with walk-in/urgent care.
- Work across the lifespan with on-site services including family medicine, pharmacy, behavioral health, rehabilitation, medication management, and social services.
- Common procedures include suturing, incision and drainage of abscesses, removal of soft tissue foreign bodies, closed reduction of simple fractures and dislocations, and splinting.
- Be adaptable to a high degree of case variety; day-to-day conditions range from acute illnesses to chronic disease.
