Job summary

Holy Cross Health in Silver Spring, MD is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a part-time night shift on the 4 South Acute/Cardiac unit. The RN will provide bedside care to acutely ill patients, apply the nursing process, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include administering medications, educating patients and families, documenting care, and coordinating discharge planning. Requires Maryland RN licensure, BLS, and at least 1 year of acute care experience; BSN

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program; BSN/MSN preferred.
• Current Maryland RN licensure or Compact State licensure.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association).
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and collaboration abilities.
• Competency in electronic patient management systems.
• At least 1 year of nursing experience in acute care, preferably cardiac.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support patient-centered care.
• Communicate variances from patient goals and advocate for patients.
• Maintain accurate and timely healthcare records.
• Administer medications, provide education, and monitor efficacy and side effects.
• Assess, monitor, and record patient condition and changes.
• Design and evaluate nursing care plans with the healthcare team.
• Educate patients and families during stay and prior to discharge.
