Job summary

American International Group, Inc. (AIG) seeks an Associate Actuary for the Private Client Select reserve reviews and quarterly/year-end financial deliverables.

The role partners with Pricing, Underwriting, Claims, and Data teams to implement best practices and analyze loss trends for reserve adequacy. You will mentor junior staff and support actuarial transformation initiatives while maintaining strong communication and documentation standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
• 3+ years of P&C actuarial experience, with reserving experience strongly preferred.
• ACAS credential or near-ACAS completion.

Responsibilities

• Perform and communicate the Private Client Select reserve review.
• Complete trend studies and collaborate with Pricing Actuaries and Underwriting to evaluate emerging loss experience.
• Analyze loss trends and claims emergence to assess reserve adequacy and identify key drivers of change.
• Collaborate with Claims and Underwriting to review large losses on a monthly basis.
• Provide actuarial support for quarterly closing activities and year-end financial reporting.
• Support the Global AvE process.
• Partner with other actuaries to implement reserving best practices and analytical methodologies.
• Work effectively as part of a team and mentor junior staff.
