Job summary

AIG in Chicago is seeking an actuarial professional to support centralized reserving, reserve reviews, quarter close and year-end deliverables, and collaborate with Pricing, Underwriting, Claims and Data teams to drive improvements.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science or related field, 3+ years of P&C actuarial experience (reserving preferred), ACAS near completion, and skills in VBA/SQL/Snowflake. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
• 3+ years of P&C actuarial experience, with reserving experience strongly preferred.
• ACAS credential or near-ACAS completion.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with VBA, SQL, Snowflake, or other programming languages strongly preferred.
• Willingness to learn new programming languages, technologies, and tools as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform and communicate the Private Client Select reserve review.
• Complete trend studies and collaborate with Pricing Actuaries and Underwriting to evaluate emerging loss experience.
• Analyze loss trends and claims emergence to assess reserve adequacy and identify key drivers of change.
• Collaborate with Claims and Underwriting to review large losses on a monthly basis.
• Provide actuarial support for quarterly closing activities and year-end financial reporting.
• Support the Global AvE process.
• Partner with other actuaries to implement reserving best practices and analytical methodologies.
• Work effectively as part of a team and mentor any junior staff to support financial, strategic, and operational objectives.
• Collaborate with Data and Technology teams to drive process improvements and support actuarial transformation initiatives.
• Perform ad hoc analyses and other duties as required.
