Job summary

Symetra's Retirement Pricing team in Bellevue seeks an Actuary II to support pricing of Fixed Annuity, Fixed Indexed Annuity, and Registered Index-Linked Annuity products. You will build MG-ALFA pricing models, develop assumptions, and run profitability and scenario analyses to bring competitive products to market.

Ideal candidates have ASA designation, 6–9 years actuarial experience, and strong communication skills. Hybrid work options and a comprehensive benefits package are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with a strong quantitative background including college-level mathematics.
• ASA designation required; may have an FSA designation.

Responsibilities

• Support development and pricing of new Fixed Annuity, Fixed Indexed Annuity, and RIL Annuity products and features.
• Build, maintain, and enhance MG-ALFA pricing models.
• Develop assumptions and perform profitability, sensitivity, and scenario analyses.
• Evaluate product ideas to identify financial, actuarial, and policyholder-behavior risks.
• Analyze competitor products to assess market positioning and potential design or risk-mitigation opportunities.
• Interpret modeling results and communicate key findings and tradeoffs.
• Take ownership of assigned work and proactively move projects forward.
• Collaborate with Product Development and other partners during the product-development process.
• Improve pricing tools, controls, and documentation.
• Provide technical guidance to junior actuarial team members.
