Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) seeks an experienced actuarial professional to provide authoritative analysis on complex, multiemployer pension issues with national impact. The role includes preparing position papers, evaluating proposed regulations, and presenting findings to senior PBGC staff.
You will conduct studies, guide valuation models, and represent PBGC at conferences on critical technical issues, contributing to policy and program implementation across the federal sector.

To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must meet the specialized experience qualifications for the grade at which you are requesting consideration.
Specialized Experience: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the private sector applying the principles and practices of actuarial science to multi-employer defined benefit plans.
Examples include: experience evaluating and analyzing the effects of changes in the pension environment on specific multiemployer plans, determination of withdrawal liabilities, and experience advising on, presenting recommendations on, and providing summaries of pension issues and policy matters to pension plan sponsors.
Note: An Enrolled Actuary (EA), an Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) or a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) credential is preferred but not required.
In order to qualify for this position, you must possess the following education:
A bachelor's degree that included courses in actuarial science, mathematics, relevant statistics, business, finance, economics, insurance, or computer science totaling at least 24 semester hours. This course work must have included a minimum of 12 semester hours of mathematics that included differential and integral calculus and one or more courses in mathematics for which these calculus courses were prerequisites.
