Job summary

CalcAir Employee Benefit Systems, Inc. is seeking an Enrolled Actuary to lead our actuarial support team and strengthen retirement plan administration for small plans.

You will guide combo plan design, compliance, and software-driven features while collaborating with actuarial, support, and development teams. The role requires an EA designation, 5+ years in retirement plan administration, and strong ERISA/IRS/DOL knowledge.

Qualifications

• EA designation required with current enrollment status.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in retirement plan administration, focusing on combo plans (DB/DC).
• Strong understanding of ERISA, IRS, and DOL regulations for small retirement plans.
• Proven experience leading or mentoring professional teams in client service.
• Ability to communicate complex actuarial concepts to non-actuaries.
• Experience with retirement plan software platforms and feature development.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with data analysis tools.
• Prior experience in a client-facing support role and exposure to QA/testing.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of accredited specialists including actuarial professionals.
• Provide expert guidance on combo plan design, compliance, and administration.
• Support customer inquiries and troubleshoot plan-specific issues with precision.
• Collaborate with software developers to propose enhancements for plan administration tools.
• Participate in testing and validation of new software functionalities for accuracy.
• Contribute to training materials and client education on retirement plan features.
• Interpret regulatory changes and translate them into actionable system updates.
• Offer actuarial insights during product planning to align needs with capabilities.
