Job summary

Palomar invites rising actuarial students to join a hands-on internship program in Minnesota. You’ll work on real-world projects and learn how the actuarial team collaborates with other departments during a June–August program.

The role emphasizes learning, growth, and leadership guidance in a hybrid work environment. Ideal candidates are enrolled undergrad (junior/senior) pursuing actuarial science, math, statistics, economics, or finance, with strong GPA and a passion to grow in the actuarial

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Currently enrolled as an undergraduate (junior or senior year).
• Minimum of 8 weeks availability (opportunity to expand to 10 weeks).
• Hybrid Work Environment – in-office and remote.
• Preference for having passed at least 1 actuarial exam.
• Maintain an exceptional GPA in college.

Responsibilities

• Assist with assessing adequacy of loss reserves.
• Project profitability for Palomar products.
• Quantify risk exposure and propose risk mitigations.
• Perform actuarial/market research and statistical analyses.
• Create tools and/or reports.
• Present internship project outcomes at program end.
