Job summary

Unum is offering a summer actuarial internship designed to deliver practical, data-driven project work within the disability-based employee benefits marketplace. You will gain exposure to pricing, valuation, modeling, and experience analysis while presenting outcomes to senior leaders.

Applicants should be enrolled in an actuarial-focused program, with strong math coursework, a GPA of 3.0, and at least one actuarial exam passed.

Qualifications

  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college degree program or set to graduate Spring 2027.
  • Extensive coursework in math, actuarial science, statistics, economics, or finance.
  • GPA of 3.0 overall required.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and on-campus involvement.
  • At least 1 actuarial exam passed preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver innovative and effective solutions for clients in the disability-based employee benefits marketplace.
  • Gain understanding of the insurance industry and develop technical, data-driven problem-solving skills.
  • Complete meaningful, challenging actuarial project work assigned by a manager or team lead.

  • Attend weekly information sessions and networking opportunities with senior leaders.
  • Participate in social events and community service activities.
  • Join an Employee Network and work with the Office of Inclusion & Diversity

Requirements
