Job summary

American Modern Insurance Group invites interns to gain hands-on actuarial experience by cleaning and preparing data, supporting analyses, and performing Excel-based work. You’ll collaborate with experienced analysts, connect with leaders, and participate in projects that mirror real actuarial decision making.

The program emphasizes hands-on learning, networking with executives, and exposure to a global reinsurance perspective through Munich Re.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree with a focus on Actuarial Science, Math or related field
• Rising Junior or Senior at the time of the internship
• Available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for the duration of the summer internship program
• Able to work in a hybrid environment, including approximately 40-50% of the time in Amelia, Ohio
• Reliable transportation to commute to the office as required
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
• Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and contribute to meaningful projects

Responsibilities

• Clean and prepare data for actuarial analysis
• Support standard actuarial analyses and indications
• Complete Excel-based analytical work
• Apply coding skills, where helpful, to improve or support analysis
• Work alongside full-time actuarial analysts and contribute to the same core activities that support actuarial decision making
