Great West Casualty Company is seeking an Actuarial Intern to gain hands‑on experience in the insurance industry. You will support the actuarial team by analyzing data, evaluating risk, and contributing to projects that drive strategic decisions.

This internship offers exposure to pricing, reserving, models, and reports with mentorship and collaboration. Ideal candidates are pursuing Actuarial Science or related fields, have strong math and Excel skills, and are progressing on actuarial exams.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Strong mathematical and analytical abilities.
• Interest in pursuing an actuarial career path.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.
• Familiarity with Python, R, SQL is a plus.
• Successful completion of actuarial Exams (P/FM encouraged; two exams desirable).
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with data collection, validation, and analysis to support actuarial studies.
• Participate in pricing, reserving, and profitability analysis projects.
• Support the development and maintenance of actuarial models and reports.
• Analyze trends and patterns in claims, underwriting, and financial data.
• Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations.
• Assist with forecasting and risk analysis initiatives.
• Collaborate with actuarial team members and business partners across the organization.
• Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
