Job summary

MetLife’s Actuarial Resources within the Financial Management Group offers a 10-week Actuarial Internship Program (AIP) designed to expose interns to actuarial practice, pricing, reserve calculations, and financial analysis. The program emphasizes innovation, analytics, and AI in actuarial work.

You will collaborate with experienced actuaries, attend learning sessions, and present completed projects to leaders.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in actuarial science or a quantitative field.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Strong Excel skills with pivot tables, advanced formulas, data validation, lookup functions, and data analysis techniques.
• Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills; ability to translate data into insights.
• Leadership experience, strong written and verbal communication, and initiative.
• Interest in learning programming languages and data analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to actuarial projects in pricing, reserve calculations, modeling, financial analysis, or investments.
• Collaborate with seasoned or cross-team actuaries.
• Attend learning sessions on key actuarial topics.
• Prepare and present completed projects to actuarial leaders.
• Participate in professional development, networking, and events during the summer.
