Job summary

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina is seeking an Actuarial Data Systems Analyst to deliver technical data support for actuarial financial data systems and marts. You will identify business requirements and assist in preparing trend and financial analyses for Plan divisions.

The role emphasizes data development, testing, QA, and reporting, with hybrid work options and opportunities to influence decision-making in healthcare analytics.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or advanced degree required.
3+ years of related experience; in lieu of degree, 5+ years.

Responsibilities

Develop, design and test data sets for Actuarial data marts.
Support monthly data refreshes, validations and QA for financial reporting.
Develop decision-support solutions including medical and pharmacy data builds.
Provide data definitions, usage and file structure knowledge; SQL code governance.
Identify and implement departmental best practices.
Analyze data, system problems; propose and implement solutions and communicate impacts.
Provide data support to senior team members on projects.
Perform unit testing with sample data to validate SQL logic.
Document system/technical specs to ensure solution support.
