Job summary

Reliance Matrix seeks a data-focused actuarial analyst to summarize quarterly loss experience for leaders and to support pricing, reserve accuracy and efficiency improvements. You will gather and analyze data for emerging issues, develop financial reports, and write queries to support analyses.

The role requires an undergraduate quantitative degree, 1–3 SOA exams, strong Excel and database skills, and effective communication. Work location may be flexible with a hybrid arrangement.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in a quantitative field is required.
• Completion of 1-3 SOA exams is preferred.
• Strong spreadsheet and database software skills.
• Ability to learn R and SQL.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret complex charts and statistics.

Responsibilities

• Develops summary of data to support quarterly loss experience analysis for distribution to actuarial and functional leaders.
• Supports development of experience analysis to drive continuous improvements in group benefits pricing, reserve accuracy, and structural efficiency.
• Gathers and analyzes data needed to support emerging issues.
• Develops reports summarizing financial results by critical parameters.
• Writes queries against databases required to perform desired analyses.
• Writes reports to support analyses.
• Provides ad hoc support to Pricing, Claims and/or Underwriting as required.
• Continuous progress on actuarial exams.
• All other duties as assigned.
