Job summary

Henderson Scott seeks a Senior Actuarial Business Systems Analyst to drive modernization of actuarial and financial systems within a large insurance environment. You will work with Actuarial, Finance, Reinsurance and Technology teams to analyze processes, define requirements and improve data solutions for actuarial operations.

You will translate complex business requirements into scalable technology, using advanced SQL and data analysis to validate rules and data reconciliation.

Qualifications

• Strong experience supporting actuarial, insurance, or financial systems.
• Knowledge of fixed annuities and reinsurance is a plus.
• Advanced SQL and data analysis skills are required.
• Experience translating complex business requirements into technical solutions.
• Experience with Agile delivery, Jira, Confluence, user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Exposure to AWS-based data platforms or cloud modernisation initiatives.
• Strong stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyse actuarial and financial processes and translate requirements into technology solutions.

Strong business systems analysis experience within actuarial, insurance or financial services, with knowledge of annuity products and advanced SQL skills. You should be comfortable translating complex business requirements into scalable technology and data solutions.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Actuarial Business Systems Analyst to support the modernisation of actuarial and financial systems within a large insurance environment.

You’ll work closely with Actuarial, Finance, Reinsurance and Technology teams to analyse business processes, define requirements and improve the platforms and data solutions supporting actuarial operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse actuarial and financial processes and translate requirements into technology solutions
• Facilitate requirements workshops with business and technical stakeholders
• Use SQL to validate business rules and reconcile actuarial and financial data
• Support the modernisation of data platforms, system integrations and AWS-based solutions
• Create user stories, acceptance criteria, process documentation and test plans
• Support testing, production releases and continuous improvement activities
• Mentor other Business Systems Analysts and improve analysis standards across the team

What we need from you
