Guardian Life in Bethlehem, PA is launching an Actuarial Associate role within the Actuarial Leadership Development Program (ALDP). You will rotate departments every 18 to 24 months to gain breadth, perform financial and non-financial analyses, and contribute to pricing, product, underwriting, and finance initiatives.

The role is hybrid (3 days in office in Bethlehem or other locations) with 2 days remote, offers salary range $79,310 to $130,295 and opportunities for advancement as you pursue

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a mathematics-based field.
• Regularly taking actuarial exams to pursue the Actuarial Fellow designation in the Society of Actuaries.
• A minimum of two years of prior work experience in the actuarial field.
• Proficient in MS Excel as well as experience in using actuarial modeling / data visualization software.
• Ability to communicate pricing analyses to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to contribute to multiple projects with multiple deliverables simultaneously.
• Strong analytical and technical skills with the ability to synthesize sophisticated information.

Responsibilities

• Utilize internal and external data sources to better understand industry trends, clients, competitors, and the regulatory environment.
• Complete assignments on time and according to specifications provided by your supervisor as independently as possible, recognizing situations where managerial guidance is needed.
• Execute rate development and state rate filings that support the strategic goals set forth by the Group Finance Strategy Team.
• Provide actuarial support for product, underwriting, finance, and distribution initiatives impacting pricing models and resulting rates.
• Recommend and actively support the use of new and advanced techniques to modernize the pricing approach and improve accuracy.
