Job summary

Great American Insurance Group's Strategic Comp unit is seeking an Actuarial Analyst to support reporting, analytics, and business initiatives. The role focuses on maintaining the internal pricing tool, producing recurring actuarial and management reports, and collaborating with underwriting, claims, finance, product, and technology teams.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, 0–2 years actuarial or analytical experience, and at least one CAS exam.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Data Science, or a related field.
  • 0–2 years of actuarial or analytical experience.
  • Successfully completed at least one CAS actuarial examination.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with data analysis tools.

Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain the internal pricing tool.
  • Produce recurring actuarial and management reports.
  • Assist with profitability studies, pricing analyses, trend monitoring, and experience reviews.
  • Support actuarial model development, maintenance, and data analysis initiatives.
  • Partner with underwriting, claims, finance, product, and technology teams to address business needs.
  • Document processes and recommend improvements to reporting and efficiency.
  • Communicate analytical findings to support business decisions.
