Job summary

National Life Group in Montpelier, VT, seeks an Actuarial Analyst to produce reports, analyze actuarial and financial data, and develop, update, maintain and run complex models for life insurance and annuity products.

As part of the Actuarial Development Program, you will receive exam support toward ASA/FS A while working on-site four days per week (core days: Mon–Thu). This role offers collaboration, growth, and the chance to contribute to company-wide valuation efforts.

Qualifications

• Strong mathematical and analytical aptitude.
• Ability to work accurately and in a timely manner.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Knowledge of life insurance and/or annuity products.
• Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work independently as well as being a team player.
• Strong coordination, communication, and influencing skills.
• Authorized to work in the United States and able to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Create, maintain and update actuarial models for either product development or valuation related work
• Prepare or assist in preparing reports and documentation of work product
• Identify and elevate best practices and process improvements in work product
• Solve complex problems as they arise
• Provide support to non-actuarial areas as needed
