Job summary

The Ohio Department of Insurance (ODI) is seeking a skilled actuarial analyst to evaluate Property & Casualty rate filings for reasonableness and regulatory compliance. You will communicate findings to filers, assist in rate approvals, and develop tools for ongoing compliance reviews.

Ideal candidates have an undergraduate math program background with actuarial exam progress and multiple years of related experience. This is a full-time, on-site position in Columbus, OH with excellent benefits.

Qualifications

• Completion of undergraduate core program in mathematics with 3 CAS or 3 SOA examinations in related division.
• 4 years of experience in actuarial field pertinent to assigned division.
• 24 months of experience operating a personal computer.

Responsibilities

• Analyzing complex Property and Casualty Insurance rate filings for reasonableness and compliance with state and federal laws.
• Notifying insurance companies of compliance issues and approving rates for use in Ohio.
• Researching and understanding relevant compliance requirements.
• Creating and maintaining compliance review tools and providing data analysis.
• Provide direction and peer reviews of work by lower level analysts.
